Cristina De Dios Pastrana was born on September 14, 1951 along with her twin, Victoria. She was the daughter of Pacifico, former Manila police, and Virginia, a home maker. She has four siblings, Cora, eldest, who is also now with the Lord, Victoria, her twin, and Rexie, the youngest in the family. Cristina has three children namely Christopher 46, Percival 40, and Hermielou, 38. She has five grand children (oldest to youngest) Crisjohn, 15 and Angel, 14, [her eldest’s (Christopher) children] and Jade, 7, Belle, 5 and Kaylee, 6 months [her youngest’s (Lou) children]. She had been separated from her husband for years, Hermie, but this did not stop her from being the best mother that she could be to her children.
She was also active at her local Catholic Church when she was still in the Philippines. She was the church secretary for a number of years and was involved in a number of religious activities such as the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Cristina lived a very fulfilled life. All her life, she devoted to her children and grand children. She was a good cook and always made her children happy for making their favorite Filipino dishes. She was selfless, loving, prayerful, giving, and loving. She always put her kids’ needs first above all else. She fulfilled her purpose in life by raising her three children mostly by herself who are all God-fearing. Like what others say, “Heaven gained another angel from earth" Cristina, you will truly be missed.
The prayer on the back cover was personally handwritten by Cristina and she gave it to her son, Val in 2014, when he was going through a rough patch. This instantly brings us comfort and love and it says everything and more. A simple reminder that everything in life has a reason and ultimate purpose.
