You privately took your last breath at 10 pm on Friday, August 13th, 2021, at the age of 82. You received the call that your Mama was wanting you home. She has been waiting 70 years to hold you in her arms again, with your 11 siblings and your Papa by her side.
Dallas was born February 18th, 1939, in Massillon, Ohio. The youngest of 12 children to John and Lethia Weiford, who were from West Virginia. Known as “Dally” to his brothers and sisters. After his Mother’s passing, he ventured out across the United States (Do Not attempt this today kids) hitch-hiking all the way to La Puente, California where his brother Norm was living. Just 15 years old Dallas started working in Norm’s machine shop, while attending El Monte High School, where he met his beautiful bride-to-be!
Dallas worked hard to provide for his family, dedicated and committed, he often worked three jobs at a time to ensure his large family always had a stable home. From being a manager at the Zody’s in Covina, to opening a dress shop at the whim of his wife, eventually Dallas found his niche in sales. He became the Life Insurance salesman who loved each and everyone of his clients. Dallas started his own agency, Weiford Insurance Services, and continued his business for over 50 years, serving the Covina area. If his family had one word to describe Dallas it would be Perseverance.
Dallas was always happy, smiling, upbeat, and supportive. He was respected by his peers and looked up to by the younger generation. It was not only his children he offered his wisdom and support to, but it extended to all their friends. Dallas helped many who may have needed extra parental guidance at times during their lives. We would love to acknowledge them by name, but it would cost another grand to include all of you! You know who you are, and you know how much Dallas wanted to give you the hope and love of Christ Jesus to carry you through those times of need. Dallas invited anyone who needed a place to come for supper, for love, and for the Word of God to feed their soul. None of this would have been possible without the strength and unselfish love of his sweetheart, Sandy, who knew no other love than Dallas. They shared an unconditional faith and tight bond that stood the test of time.
Dallas is survived by the love of his life, Sandra Fay Weiford, married 64 amazing years. He was blessed with six children: Sheri Stoddard, Bill Weiford and wife Margaret, Phillip Weiford and wife Joann, Dwayne Weiford, Shirley Weiford-Beard, and Serena Abid and husband Walid.
One of his greatest joys was being a Grandpa to: Susan Kennedy, Savannah Beard, Sarah Weiford, Jeremiah Beard, Samantha Arter, Cheyenne Vidunas, Chelsea Bidlack, Shaylene Weiford, Stephanie Weiford, Jordan Beard, Sariah Abid, Blake Weiford and Adnan Abid.
His blessings continued with 9 great-grandchildren to boot: Caleb, Xristina, Kaya, Scarlett, Shelby, Sydney, Elijah, Jackson and Saige.
