Dolores Mary Molina, affectionately known to all as "Grammie," passed away on June 4, 2024. Grammie was born on July 4, 1930, in Tampa, Florida. She was the beloved daughter of Ramon and Elvira Blanco.
Grammie bought her first home in Baldwin Park, a single mother, where back in those days was unheard of but somehow she did it! She happened to go to Standard Brands Paint Company to buy some paint for her new house where she met James Molina who we all call “Opa”. He helped her with buying the paint and asked her out to dinner . At first she declined and went home to tell her mother who we all call “Wella” to tell her what happened. Wella INSISTED she call him back and accept his date and well, the rest is history. On February 5, 1966, Dolores embarked on a journey of love and companionship as she joined hands in marriage with her beloved James Molina. Their union was a testament to enduring love, spanning an incredible 58 years, filled with laughter, support, and unwavering devotion. They had a style of love characterized by Loyalty, Respect and commitment.
On June 4, 2024, in San Juan Capistrano, California, our beloved Grammie peacefully passed away with her family by her side. Grammie moved 6 years ago with her husband from Victorville to the city of San Juan Capistrano where her ex-daughter in law, Liesel helped her with daily activities.
If you know Grammie then you were lucky to have seen and been given her trademark gesture, a unique expression of her boundless love. A mischievous smile, she would extend her middle finger, a gesture that may seem unconventional to some, but to those who knew her, it was the purest manifestation of her affection. If you were fortunate enough to receive that finger, you knew without a doubt that you were dearly loved as she would always say “ Love you Mucho.”
Grammie is survived by her beloved family. Her husband, James Molina, son, Charles Roy Hazen II and his wife , Kelley. Her step-son, Steve Molina, grandchildren, Charlene Martinez, Sheila Hazen and Charles Roy Hazen III. Her Great Grandchildren, Oscar Sanchez Jr. , Charles James Sanchez, Sofia Cuevas, Alyah Hazen, Charles Roy Hazen IV, Noah Hazen, Abrianna Lopez, Angelique Mandelcorn, Analiese Mandelcorn and her Great Great Granddaughter, Destiny Sanchez.
Our dearest Grammie, you will be forever missed and know that we all… “Love you mucho!”
