My grandmother is Edith Sciaroni. She was born on August 13th, 1925 in Marin County, California to May and William Meagor. She also had a brother by the name of Richard Meagor. She attended Fairfield Elementary School, Main School for 7th/8th and Tamalpais High School. After high school she then went to Marin Jr College where she received an AA in general studies. She met my grandfather Allen Sciaroni at a Marin College dance. They married on August 9th, 1947 at Old St Mary’s Catholic Church in San Francisco, CA. They were married for over 50 years and had six children together. Edith was a homemaker most of her life however she went back to work when her youngest two children went to junior high school. With their children they had many fun and wonderful camping and ski trips. Later in life they were able to travel the United States as well as visit other counties. She passed away on October 15, 2021.
During my Grandmother’s life the world has gone through many changes. One thing that changed was the phone. When she was a child they had a phone that was on the wall and was a party line. Meaning multiple people had the same number and you could eavesdrop on other people’s phone conversation. To now where phones have actually screens.
Her grandchildren were her life. She loved to talk with us and play games. Her favorite type of game was card games. On Christmas she loved to watch us open gifts. She loved to tell us stories from her childhood.
She is survived by five of her children (Jack, Carrie, Dan, Teresa, Liz) and her 7 grandchildren (Kaity, Thomas, Kurtis, Marisol, Kori, Haley, and Brandon). She was preceded in death by her husband Al and her son Steve.
