I will always remember how comfortable it was just being in your presence.

I miss talking to you. You were my absolute favorite. You were not afraid to explore the gnarliest parts of our minds. You were always open to debating me with love and respect for my thoughts. Our banter was such a delight to engage in. Some of the best parts of who I am today, evolved from the privilege of having you as a companion. 

I’m sad I will never get to see your smile in person again or hear your mischievous laugh or take a deep dive into that mind of yours. I hope your laughing at us all and finding the peace you so desired while you were with us.  

Magnolia Trees will now forever remind me of you. You have been a teacher of duality and paradox.

Favorite, I took this picture of you in Joshua Tree. 
We drove out to the desert in the middle of the night. I remember sitting in the back seat,  looking at you through the rear view mirror on the way there. There was solace in your eyes. You were grounded and unwavering about what you wanted to do that day. You wanted a night without drinking or anything else. Without distractions. You wanted to just exist in the now of everything. When we arrived, it was pitch black. You found a place for us all to sleep under the giant boulders. The four of us laid down on the warm ground, heads in a circle. We stared out into the star lit sky. We talked about everything & nothing, as always. We all fell asleep under the blanket of stars. I had never seen the heavens in the dark of the desert before. In that darkness you could see their true sparkle. Much like you. 

I’m so sorry to hear about Eddie. We used to work at OA together and my favorite memory was buying bug snacks from this shop in San Francisco and sharing them with our little pod of desks. Eddie was the only other person brave enough to try them with me. We had crickets and mealworms covered in chocolate or spices. He was a good dude to be around and I really liked his energy.

Eddy, we will miss you brother - too many memories man, from middle school ( first friend I made in south county at the bus stop) to high school (party’s/LA nightlife) and even after (place to crash/ Dacian’s birthdays partys where you’d bring Christian) . Your sense of humor, outlook and unique energy. The only person that got away with calling me Mija, a twist on my last name. Appreciate all your help, friendship and countless nights of trying to figure life out as teenagers. I’ll always remember our last convo with Ali last year and only wished we could’ve connected again at the Dodgers game. Condolences to your family, they were always great and I know they loved you. Go Lakers! Korn still kicks ass, N64 Crusin’ SF racing game is still legend, Eddy forever - love you kid 🙏🏽🕊️❤️




 
My favorite childhood memories were with  you and your family,  including Phenix. I  was always excited to go visit you. I will never forget the lovely Christmases we shared together. You and your family will always hold a special place in my heart 💚  May your soul rest in peace 🙏 

I remember celebrating your birthday every year. Every year I had to get you a cake, presents, and some sort of decorations. I'm going to miss singing Happy Birthday at the top of my lungs for you. Every time I would sing, you would tell me to quiet down because of the neighbors. I miss looking at the joy on your face when you would open your presents from me to you. I love you and I miss you so much.
