Born on January 28, 1960, in Van Nuys, California, Jack dedicated his life to education, family, and quiet acts of kindness. He spent 34 meaningful years at Soka University, where he began as a professor specializing in English as a Second Language. His passion for teaching and his unwavering commitment to his students eventually led him to serve as the Director of the university's English program for over 30 years, a role in which he mentored countless colleagues and touched the lives of many international students.
Jack will be remembered for his gentle wisdom, his dry wit, his prankster ways, and his deep devotion to the people he loved. Whether he was sharing stories over bread baking or offering encouragement when it was needed most, Jack made those around him feel seen, heard, and valued.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Elena, and their two sons, Diego and Sean, and his daughter-in-law Danielle, who were the pride of his life.
Jack’s legacy lives on in the family he adored, the students he inspired, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
