Julie “Jule” Locher November 25, 1936 ~ March 12, 2017 Julie Locher passed peacefully the afternoon of March 12, 2017 at her beautiful home surrounded by her loving children and devoted husband. She was born in Throope, Pennsylvania and her family relocated to Waterman Avenue in Detroit Michigan. She grew up in a big loving family, with parents Joseph and Anna Horvath and 5 siblings, including her twin brother Steve Horvath. Julie had a zest for life and enjoyed the excitement and fun of being in school, swimming for her school as well as all the socializing that came with being a beautiful young student. It was here, on Waterman Avenue, that she met the love of her life, Robert, her husband of 60 years. In that time, they married and lived in Michigan, had three children (Laura, Jeff, & Paula), moved to California, had another child (Robin), moved back to Michigan, had another child (Karen), moved to New Jersey, and finally moved back to California and have been in Mission Viejo, California for the past 43 years. Julie was gifted at making a house a home. This was reflected in the beautiful and inviting environments she created in every home she and Bob lived in. You could always see her signature touch on anything she created. Family and Friends meant the world to her and her graceful ability to host a party or entertain a guest was truly an extension of her love. Everyone was always welcome! Julie was a truly amazing and extraordinary woman, always vibrant and full of life and love, especially for her family. She could never do enough for you! Elegant, classy, graceful, strong, loyal, patient, loving, creative, independent, hard working, fun and faithful are just a few words to describe her. Her life’s work and accomplishments were many; from being a wonderful wife and mother, to her career in cosmetics, fashion and modeling, to her entrepreneurial ventures with antiques and interior design. As was her style, she mastered these with elegance and strength. Her love of fashion and beauty pulled her towards the modeling and cosmetic industry. She enjoyed modeling and continued working even when she was pregnant. She continued in this industry for many years and even taught modeling classes. She excelled in her work with the retail cosmetics industry, many of those years were spent with Lancôme at the Buffums store in the Laguna Hills Mall. She volunteered several years for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and helped organize their big Gala fundraiser events in Beverly Hills. She was able to realize one of her dreams when she opened her own antique store that she operated for over 10 years in San Juan Capistrano, Curiosity Antiques. After she sold the store she down sized to a consignment space at The Antique Barn and was able to continue with her interior design. All the while continuing to be the best and most amazing wife and mother a family could ask for. She is survived by Husband Robert, children; Laura Smith (Mark), Jeff Locher (Tracey), Paula Edgren (Kyle), Robin Locher and Karen Locher, Grandchildren; Heather, Josh, Jake, Jessica, Christian, Anna, Jessica, Emma, Adam, Gael, Loren, Ciera, Noah and Great-grandchild Addison, and her Sister, Patricia Harrington. She was Beautiful inside and out, a true Jewel that touched everyone’s heart. “Sparkle and Shine!” That was our Julie! She will be missed so dearly, but will live in our hearts and thoughts forever.
