

June was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Anthony and Anne Mauer who moved the family to California when she was very young. June grew up in Downey, California as the oldest of five siblings and attended Warren High School. June married Campbell Tait in 1966 and they made their home in Orange County, California throughout the next 51 years. Using her PhD in Education from the University of Southern California, June dedicated her professional life to education, which was truly her passion. Throughout her career of more than 30 years, she was a teacher, principal and administrator in the Magnolia School District in Anaheim, California. June was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling the world with Campbell.
June is survived by her beloved husband Campbell, sisters Virginia Scanlan and Ann Mauer, brothers Paul and Tony Mauer, along with their respective families. All will mourn the loss of June, a strong, ambitious and intelligent woman with a kind heart and a big smile.
A Memorial Service will be held at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630 on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
