Karlida Bertha Polak, beloved wife of the late George Polak, passed away July 30, 2021 at the age of 86 with complications from metastatic bone cancer. She and George were happily married for 63 years and lived in Cleveland and Strongsville, Ohio before moving to the warmer climates found in Sylmar, Westminster, Sun City and Laguna Woods, California.
Born to Karl and Christina Ehrman, April 24, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio, she graduated from John Adams High School, and continued in studies to become a registered dietician. As well as excelling as a homemaker, wife and mom, she was employed in customer service and administrative positions in a variety of industries.
She was always remembered for her gracious hospitality and her kitchen mastery, which produced incredibly delicious home cooked meals along with scrumptious cakes, pies, cookies and other culinary delights. She was the ”Hostess with the Mostess” who enjoyed opening her home to Bible studies, neighborhood card games and parties.
Karlida loved watching movies, playing card games, and going to Disneyland with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Annemarie Lovdahl and Barbara Whiteman, and four grandchildren, Bethany & Nathaniel Carlson and Robert & Valerie Lovdahl.
A viewing ceremony will be held September 4 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Memorial Services, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.
