Mamie Rivas Lacebal
March 16, 1931 – January 25, 2026
Mamie Rivas Lacebal, age 94, of San Clemente, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 25, 2026.
She was born on March 16, 1931, in Sinton, Texas, to Rita and Librado Rivas, and was one of eleven children. Mamie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Sammy Lacebal.
A woman of deep faith, love, and compassion, Mamie was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for over 60 years, where she volunteered faithfully and lived her faith through service to others.
Mamie dedicated 35 years of service to South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, now known as Mission Hospital. She retired at the age of 72 to lovingly care for her husband.
She will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends, her warm smile and joyful laughter, her strong faith in Jesus, and her famous tamales. Mamie took great joy in teaching family and friends how to cook and share homemade Mexican food, creating cherished traditions passed down through generations.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Mamie’s spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing, and may her legacy of love and compassion live on in our hearts.
