Margaret Genevieve Menkus changed her residence from Mission Viejo, Ca. to Heaven on March 20, 2019. Born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, she was 99 years old and a retired legal secretary.
Waiting for her in Heaven are many friends and family members. They include her husband, Roy Johnson who fathered her two children and her second husband, Max Menkus with whom she enjoyed her retirement and her son Gary Richard Johnson who passed on four years ago.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Johnson Witcher, daughter-in-law Cynthia Johnson, step-son Joe Menkus. She has five grandchildren – granddaughters Linda Sweeney and her husband John, Laurie Worthington and her husband Severio; grandsons Paul Miller and his wife Gloria, Gregory Johnson and his wife Kelly, Geoffrey Johnson and his wife Anna.
There are also twelve great grandchildren – Michael and Gregory Argeros, Madalyn Worthington and her fiancée Ian Redlinger, Lindsey Melland and her husband Douglas, Arielle DuBois and her husband Daniel, Melissa Weber and her husband Adam, Severina Thom and her husband Blake, Gary and Gavin Johnson. Rounding out her loving family are three great-great grandsons: Bradley Mann, William Melland and Weston DuBois.
A celebration of her remarkable life will be held on Saturday, April 13 at Fairhaven Memorial Services, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo. Service in the chapel will be in the afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 with refreshments following in the reception room.
