Mycle Antonios Brandy

February 14, 1951May 17, 2019

Mycle Brandy, singer/songwriter and entertainer, was also a 4 time stroke survivor who walked across the US to provide hope and inspiration for stroke survivors everywhere and demonstrated there is life after stroke. In 2010, he walked from Newport Beach CA to Washington DC. And in 2011, he walked and from San Deigo, CA to Seattle WA and his last cross border walk was from Madawaska, Maine to Miami, FL from October 2012 and ended on 2/14/13.

He received a Proclamation from the City Council and Mayor of Miami proclaiming it M2M & Mycle Brandy Day. Mycle walked over 7,000 miles in total and visited scores of hospitals and support groups to help illustrate the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle. He reached hundreds through media and speaking engagements to share his stories and encouraged others to share theirs.

Prior to his strokes, Mycle was also a glazier and bouncer at local clubs in Orange County at Palm Springs. He was most comfortable in the hospitality and entertainment industry. He was a local radio station personality in Palm Springs in the late 70’s promoting such nightclubs as Brandy’s and Zelda’s. Mycle was also an avid dog lover/foster dad and everyone knew during NFL Football season, never book him for anything during a game, especially the Super Bowl!!

Mycle is survived by his wife Louise, sisters Marsha and Cheryl and brother Kevin and niece Lila. He is also survived by son Mycle, wife Sara, two grandsons Pablo and Benjamin. And his second son Jordan Brandy. Mycle’s extended family includes Marie Hickman, Jim and Linda Hickman, Frances and Dave Simmons, as well as the following nieces and nephews, Steven, Jill, Abby, Izzy, Marie, Andy, Gigi, Allie, Drew, Dani, Bowie, Layla, CJ, Megan, Katie, Danny, Denae and Kevin.
