Noori Azam Parsa, with her family by her side, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2021. She was born on May 22, 1934 in Arak, Iran to Asadolah Parsa and Saleheh Maleki. She grew up with her three sisters, Tayebe, Mahin and Fatemeh and her two brothers, Reza and Hossein. Noori finished her schooling and earned her teaching credentials. She led a career as a beloved teacher. Noori Parsa married Ali Akbar Jalali and together they had 4 children, Shahla, Bijan, Bahman and Shila. Noori had 8 grandchildren, Arian, Elnaz, Shadi, Omid, Nima, Nika, Tiahm and Tara. She also had two great grandchildren, Isla and Kyron who had a special place in her heart.
Noori was a passionate individual when it came to all aspects of her life. She was a strong and courageous woman who spoke her mind freely and also instilled these qualities into her children and grandchildren.
Upon the passing of her husband, Noori left her home in Iran and moved to California to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She played a vital role in raising each grandchild and was always a wealth of motherly wisdom and knowledge. She was a continuous stream of support, love and kindness not only for her family, but all those who surrounded her.
To say she’ll be missed doesn’t quite capture the feeling. Her absence will be felt across all our lives but how grateful we are to have had her with us for as long as we did. The mark she left behind will carry on through us and our children.
