I am Lawrence McPhee, son of Chris Johannson

My mom, Chris Johannson was one of Phyllis casino buddies.  Phyllis would pick mom up and they'd head out to a casino for an all nighter.  When mom ran out of money she would grab a book and head to the pool.  Phyllis would keep working the slots.  On one trip, mom fell a sleep on the way home from Las Vegas.  When she woke up she saw a freeway sign that said "La Mesa".   Mom turned to Phyllis and said " we are in San Diego!"  Phyllis said no we aren't.  They pulled off the freeway to figure out where they were.  They stopped at a gas station and got directions back to Orange County.   Mom loved adventures with Phyllis!!

More than 50 years ago while our husbands were watching football on TV Phyllis and I would go shopping.   I ended up with 5 wigs I never wore.    She made everything fun and that's what counted.
