

He was born August 12,1933 in Calera Victor Rosales, Zacatecas, Mexico to parents Francisco and Leocadia Esparza. He grew up around his Spanish grandfather, Hilario Esparza, whom he and Ruben's father were merchants and instilled him a love for sales.
As a young man, he had a keen sense of adventure, so he travelled throughout all of Mexico and parts of the United States, living in many states of Mexico as a salesman for several companies such as, Procter and Gamble, Colgate, and Nestle.
He had a very independent and innovative spirit. He was the beloved husband of Elisa for 52 years, and a devoted father. Ruben was known for his kind and joyful personality, and he had a lifelong love for the Golden Era of Mexican Cinema and all things sweet. He always worked hard to be independent, and self employed by commercializing the traditional Hispanic drinks for the restaurant industry for 50 years ago with his company, Aguas Frescas Festival, Inc.
He was survived by his three children, Ruben Jr., Monica, and Javier; his grandchildren Annelisa, Chloe, and Miles. He also outlived his immediate family, parents and 5 siblings.
He was a man of strong work ethics, integrity, kindness, sense of humor, and generosity who left a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved him.
