

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel William Dyke; father, Carl Ernest Byers; mother, Florence Rachel (Evans) Byers; and sister, Deborah Byers.
Sally is survived by two children: Jessica (Craig) Mackey of Ladera Ranch, CA and Jason (Mary Santos) Dyke of Cleveland Heights, OH. She was a grandmother to 4: Garren, Gavin, and Reagan Mackey of Ladera Ranch, CA, and Freya Santos-Dyke of Cleveland Heights, OH. She is survived by sisters Becky Schick and Beth Maass. She was also the proud aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Sally was born in Bedford, IN on January 29, 1954. She attended Indiana University where she earned a B.S. in Education. After college, she married Daniel Dyke. Sally was a science teacher for a short time before transitioning into a 31-year career at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center in Ordinance Engineering. She retired from Crane in 2012. She was member of First Baptist Church in Bedford, IN and participated in several committees and in numerous capacities through her years of attendance until relocating to California in 2018, where she attended Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA.
Of all the jobs she held in her lifetime, her favorite role began in 2012 when she became a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their grandma.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at Fairhaven Memorial Services at 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92692 with interment held afterwards at El Toro Memorial Park at 25751 Trabuco Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630. A second service will be held Saturday, October 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1515 20th Street, Bedford, IN 47421. A celebration of life will be held immediately after, at 11:00 a.m.
