Stephen Michael Milazzo went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2024, 14 months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Stephen was born to Samuel and Norma Milazzo in July 1955 in Rochester, New York. After moving with his family to Anaheim, California during his teens, Steve graduated from Katella High School in 1973. He went on to earn Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Civil Engineering, both from California State University, Long Beach. While completing his Master's degree, he met his wife of 44 years, Donna (Davis) Milazzo at a folk dancing club affiliated with CSULB. They eventually settled in Mission Viejo, California and had two wonderful daughters, Leah and Stephanie.
Steve’s favorite activities were spending time with family and friends, involvement with church friends and activities, home improvement projects, cooking, hiking, and traveling. He and Donna worked together on many projects to make their homes welcoming places for family and friends. Steve and Donna had the opportunity to visit Europe and China together early in their marriage and more recently to Italy and France. Steve journeyed to Peru and Bhutan on mission trips to spread the Gospel. Steve went on solo adventures to Antarctica, Africa, and Japan. With the exception of Australia, he completed his goal of visiting every continent.
Steve enjoyed a long and successful career in Civil Engineering, working on many land development and infrastructure projects in Southern California. He earned his Professional Engineering license and was later honored as a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was particularly proud of his work at the Mission Viejo Company, having been involved with the development of Aliso Viejo from raw land, and most recently with the completion of the I-405 Improvement Project, the largest project ever done by CalTrans.
Stephen is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Leah and son-in-law Matthew Whittaker, Stephanie and son-in-law Andrew Medina, grandchildren Julia and Cody Whittaker and Raelynn Medina, parents Samuel and Norma Milazzo, siblings Thomas Milazzo and Susan Marder, and many extended family members and friends.

John 14: 1-3 - Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you also may be where I am.
