I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Tom through his longstanding friendship with my father. I echo the sentiments of all in saying that he was a remarkable man full of endless love for family and friends alike. I always looked forward to our days at the races and will never forget our two father/son trips to Saratoga and Cooperstown. My thoughts are with the Byrne family and may everyone find peace in witnessing Tom’s lasting impact on all he encountered.

My deepest condolences.

I got to know Tom about 5 years ago, when we began working together on three large cases. A superior lawyer, Tom was also a truly good and thoroughly decent man. I have never known a better one. Genuine, compassionate, thoughtful, insightful, generous, courteous and kind – Tom was all of those things. A true gentleman and a wonderful friend.

Working with and knowing Tom was a pleasure and an enormous privilege. I will miss him terribly.

With my deepest sympathy and condolence to Tina, Christina, Michael and the grandkids. Tom was my cousin and although the distance kept us apart, the years growing up in New Jersey were always fun with him, Aunt Frances and Uncle Michael. At his wedding to Tina, you could see and feel the love between them both. I will cherish the memories both in New Jersey and California when visiting.
Keep your memories close to your heart and know that Tom is always keeping a close eye on the family.

I had several cases over the years on the other side of the fence from Tom. We could agree to disagree. He always had his clients’ best interests at heart. Besides being a great litigator, he was a kind, caring person. He talked so fondly of his family. I know how proud he was of his children and how much joy his grandkids brought him. May God grant peace to the family and welcome Tom into His kingdom.

Special memories will always be of our nephew Tommy. While the miles were far, our hearts were close. As a youngster Tom was kind and loving and smart and witty. He especially loved sports and the fun that was had at all the large family get together parties. He was always very family focused, both as a youngster and as an adult. There are so many special memories of Tommy that will keep us going. We are praying for all of you at this time and the days to come. May God's peace comfort us all.

Thinking of you all during this time and so sorry that I can’t be there. I will never forget the excitement I felt when we made plans to come over and spend the day with you all. You didn’t know us for very long but always treated us like family. I will never forget all the days spent swimming, grilling, watching movies, playing video games, and just sitting around chatting. Those will be memories I cherish for the rest of my life. Love you all!

My heartfelt sympathy, grief, prayers, and words of comfort go out to Tom's entire family and circle of friends. It's my prayer that you all will bottle up your favorite memories and times with him and keep them close to your hearts.
I was a court reporter on several trials with Tom through the years here at the Santa Ana W.C.A.B. I called him the Gentle Giant. He had a quiet and gentle confidence about him. He always conducted himself with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and respect, both in and out of trial. He always had a smile on his face. From a court reporter's point of view he was such a joy to be in trial with because he was very conscious of the record, therefore, he spoke slowly and concisely. Every time I would walk into trial and see him at counsel table I knew it would be a good trial for me!
May Tom rest in peace with God in heaven above.
