Alfredo J. Palomo

ALFREDO JOAQUIN PALOMO, born on September 16, 1946 in Manila, Philippines, was the youngest son of Gaudencio and Vicenta J. Palomo (both deceased). He is survived by her loving wife, Estrellita Pascual; children Emiline Mae, Wilfred and Mary Joy Floresca (daughter-in-law) and W. Agatha Mae and grandchildren Laryssa Isabelle and Gabriel; sister, Erlinda Palomo

Jurilla and the Pascual clan. His oldest son, Frederick passed away at age 25 on November 3, 1994 due to bone cancer.

Fred, as he is fondly called, had his elementary schooling at the Ateneo de Manila, high school in San Beda and finished his college at San Sebastian with a Bachelor of Science degree in

Business Administration, major in Accounting.

While studying, he was working at the family business, Palomo Retazos, along Claro M. Recto Avenue, for his monthly allowance. When he got married, he worked at Commercial Bank and Trust Company, now known as Bank of the Philippine Islands. Then, he was asked by the family to work in the family owned Palomo Development Corporation and Hasmin Hotel in the Philippines as the Treasurer for both firms. When the matriarch died, he switched job to being a Life Insurance Agent of Lincoln Life Insurance Company and was eventually recruited by an insurance agency at Majuro, Marshall Islands as Life Insurance Manager and later on was transferred to Guam. At the request of Paul Uchima, the Vice President of Grand Pacific Life Insurance Company, he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and continued his insurance career and

eventually established his own insurance business under the name of Reliable insurance Agency. Aside from having an insurance license in Hawaii, he was also licensed here in the state of Texas.

His greatest accomplishment was being a good provider to his family. He sent all his children to the best schools in the Philippines from preparatory schooling to college. Since both he and his wife were working, he made it a point that he is with the family enjoying the weekends together and looked forward to summer time, planned ahead on where and how to spend the whole summer and be together with his wife and children.

Worth mentioning were his professional achievements in the insurance business where he earned a lot of accolades which were persevered on his own with his wife just in the background, to wit: Top l O Life Insurance Producer of Lincoln Life Insurance Company, Philippines; Top Producer for 5 consecutive years at Marshalls Insurance Agency, Majuro, Marshall Islands, where his awards were travels to the beautiful places in the Philippines and several states in the US and abroad with the family.

He loved to watch action and war movies when at home, enjoyed dancing ( even if he had 2 left feet), traveling, golfing with his insurance buddies, playing tennis (a good one at that) and bowling and playing basketball when he was younger and even if he could hardly run due to his big tummy. He was so involved in their fraternity, the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) and he always mentioned that his APO brothers here in Houston, Texas were very welcoming the first time he met all of them, friendly and were very supportive, as if they have known him for a long time, with special mention to Deacon Danny Naranjo and his family.

Those who knew Fred will remember him for his being straightforward, sometimes too brutal, no pretenses, stubborn, spoiled, and his delivering corny jokes that you will smirk instead of

laugh. I will sure miss his saying good morning when he wakes up and ask what's for lunch and good night before going to sleep. Despite all these, he was a very prayerful person as he prayed the rosary everyday, went to church for Sunday and holy day mass when he was still strong and healthy, but when he could hardly walk and had the stroke, the TV was his daily companion especially hearing mass and watching his favorite action movies. He never failed to say bis daily rosary and prayers.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Missouri City Funeral Home, 4217 Shipmans Cove Boulevard, Missouri City, TX 77545, US, on Friday August 21, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The ALPHA PHI OMEGA (APO) Necrological Service will start at 5:00 PM and The Rosary Service will start at 6:00 PM.

Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11 :00 AM The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Boulevard, Sugar Land, TX 77498
