To know Martha was to know unconditional love, unwavering faith, and a heart that always found room for one more person.
With profound sadness and immense gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life of Martha Sizemore a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched everyone she met. Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find peace in knowing she is now resting in the loving arms of her Savior.
Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Martha began a remarkable journey that led her to San Francisco, California, in 1959 before relocating to Houston, Texas in June 2002. She attended St. Peter's Elementary School, graduated from Notre Dame High School, and continued her education at Heald Business College. Throughout her career, she worked for Olympian Oil Company and later Energy Transfer, carrying the same dedication and integrity into every role she held.
Martha's Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. After many years at St. Laurence Catholic Church, she recently became a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She believed life's purpose was to be kind, forgiving, loving, and to trust in God—and she lived those values every day.
Her greatest joy was her family. She welcomed everyone with open arms and had a gift for making people feel loved, accepted, and at home. She faithfully supported charities including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Lung Association, quietly serving others with a generous heart. Whether celebrating Christmas with personalized ornaments, sharing family meals, or simply spending time together, Martha made every moment feel special.
She found peace at the beach, where sunrises and sunsets reminded her of God's beauty. She loved Yosemite, waterfalls, the Russian River, dancing, bowling, tennis, camping, and collecting seashells and miniature keepsakes. She enjoyed Hallmark movies, Reba, Yellowstone, The Brady Bunch, and The Twilight Zone, along with classical music, Motown, and songs from her youth. She loved seafood, popcorn, ice cream, an occasional margarita, Fireball, or Sonic Blue Coconut Cream Slush, and gathering with family at Toto's Pizza, Sizzler, and Happy Crab.
During her courageous battle with endometrial cancer, Martha remained a picture of grace, resilience, and unwavering faith. She faced every challenge with remarkable strength, never allowing her illness to overshadow the love she poured into those around her. Her quiet courage and trust in God became an inspiration to everyone who walked alongside her.
Martha is lovingly survived by her mother, Celia Galvan; her daughter, Angelica Sizemore and husband, Patrick; her son, Ramon Sizemore and wife, Amelia; her sister, Leticia Galvan; her brother, Victor Galvan; her grandchildren, Abigail Leaks and husband, Deshaun, Gianna Sizemore, Alessandra Sizemore, Cayden Sizemore, and Rozlynne Sizemore; her great-grandchildren, Deshaun Leaks, Elaina Leaks, and Jabrae Leaks; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
If Martha hoped to leave anything behind, it was this: to be kind, to forgive freely, to love generously, and to trust God completely. She lived that calling every day, and because of her, the world is gentler, her family is stronger, and her love will continue to live on in each of us.
The beach, every sunrise and sunset, every Christmas ornament, and every act of kindness will forever remind us of the beautiful person she was.
She walked through every season of life trusting that God would never leave her side. Today, we find comfort in knowing she is healed, at peace, and reunited with the Lord she faithfully loved. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, her example, and her faith will continue to guide us for generations to come.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
In honor of Martha's wishes, we ask that everyone wear Bright, Vibrant Colors to Celebrate Her Life. Please refrain from wearing Black Attire.
