Lord on Friday July 26, 2019. She was born in Clinton, Iowa June 25, 1925 and graduated from
Lyons High School in 1943. She was studying nursing in Chicago but quit to get married and
start a family. She lived in Clinton, Iowa after getting married and then moved to N. Ft Myers,
Florida where she lived for over 40 years. She moved to Mobile, Alabama to be closer to her son
in 2015.
Peggy always had a zest for life and was never one to let an adventure pass her by. She was a
licensed pilot and loved to fly. She worked as a travel agent while living in Florida and was able
to travel the world. She loved the water as much as the air and enjoyed scuba diving and sailing
in her free time. Her passion later in life was playing the bagpipes. She was a piper with the Lee
County Pipes and Drums in Ft. Myers and played with them well into her 80's. Her husband played
the drums in the band until his passing so they were able to perform at parades and
events together. It was lifestyle for them they dearly loved.
Peggy was preceeded in death by her husband, Floyd (Pete) Lawrence Jr; sisters, Mary-Jane
Bisson and June Sullens, and brother, George Pringle.
She is survived by her son, Floyd (Noreen) Lawrence III; granddaughters Keri (Gawain) Duvall
and Gena Selman all of Mobile, Alabama; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister Jean Bisson of
Clinton, Iowa.
A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 102 Industrial Pkwy,
Saraland, AL 36571 on Tuesday July 30, 2019 11:00am.
