Alden Evan Davis, III passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 from complications caused by a recent accident. Alden was born in Mobile on March 31, 1952, the son of Alden Evan Davis, Jr. and Ann Porter Davis. He graduated from University Military School in 1970 where he was a stand-out athlete and academic student. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for several years, before attending the University of South Alabama where he studied Exercise Physiology.
As a young man, Alden was a great outdoorsman and spent many days hunting and fishing with his black Labrador retriever Bass. He was a man of nature and loved the beauty and peace of the great outdoors. He was deeply religious and found a spiritual home when he converted to Catholicism many years ago. He was a faithful member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and was loved by his praying ladies.
Alden was predeceased by his parents and his sister Caroline Davis Coker. He is survived by his sister Margaret D. Johnston, brothers Douglas B. Davis (Rhonda) and Joel B. Davis (Lynn), 14 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews, along with his dear friends Don and Peggy Kelly and Butch McConnell.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St Catherine Catholic Church. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Alden’s memory be made to St. Catherine Catholic Church, 2605 Spring Hill Avenue, Mobile, AL 36607.
