
Mrs. Amy Jeanette "Jean" Kreis - born in New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Bay Minette, AL, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012.Mrs. Kreis was a graduate of Hattiesburg High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church where she was active with the Children's Choir and a leader in the Cursillo Movement. She was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4888 Ladies Auxiliary and was employed as a medical records supervisor at the University of South Alabama Medical Center for many years. Mrs. Kreis was a member of the South Alabama British Car Club and a mystic society. She acquired many friends in her workplace and Church over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Turner and Edna Mae Havens Turner; and one son, Steven Kreis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Philip Kreis; one son, Kenny (Vickye) Kreis; two sisters, Jo (Bill) Powell and Jenna (Bob) Escudero; three grandchildren, Jade Reed-Kreis, Bailey Kreis, and Mallory Kreis; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, Bay Minette, AL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Agatha Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baldwin County Animal Shelter or any adopt a pet program.
