I had only just meet Andrew last semester in Entomolgy class. I was truly sadden to hear of his passing. He was an intelligent guy with a bright future with whatever path he took in biology. He took time out to not only help myself but many others in class with our collections. I was struggling to finish my collection and even though he was done with his, he took the time out to give me some of the extras he had and also helped to identify some that I already had. I remember telling him that he was so good at it, he should really consider going into that field. He was such a nice guy and I am grateful to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I remember one rainy afternoon, you got on our bus from Phillips to Leflore and saw me crying. I don't remember what I was so upset about, but you came and sat with me and held my hand until we reached LHS. We had never spoken a word to each other before that point, but every afternoon for the rest of the school year, you sat with me. We'd listen to music and debate which band was better- Limp Bizkit or Creed!, or we'd talk about nothing in particular... and it was nice.
In the little while that you went to Baker, you'd sit out on the steps with me while we'd wait for our respective rides. There were always new music magazines for you to show me, or crazy homework assignments to complain about. I mainly just remember that you could make me laugh until I cried and my sides ached.
That's just how you were; I don't think you ever met a stranger. You were such a warm and accepting guy, and it broke my heart to learn what happened to you.
Thank you for being there for the high-strung, self-conscious kid that I was.

I went to school with Andrew at faith academy and mgm. He was an awesome person to know with high spirits and ambition. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time. Just remember he is in heaven with Jesus watching down over you all.

To the Saxon family,

Andrew was a student of mine in Biology of Fungi, at the University of South Alabama. He showed a genuine interest in all aspects of biology, always eager to participate in field work activities. I am very saddened to learn he is no longer with us.

My sincere condolences to all of you in these tragic moments, hoping you find comfort in thoughts of Andrew being in a better afterlife.

Too Soon, Too Soon. A wonderful life cut short. The pain of loss will grow less with time but I know you will always remember him as he was and those memories will never grow old. From a nephew of Uncle Al (Son of Lillian Saxon)
