“Ms. Ann” was a longtime resident of Mobile. Ann was employed by the Mobile County School System as a school bus driver for 30 years. She enjoyed making field trips with all the children, but her favorite part of her job was carrying the B. C. Rain football and basketball teams to all of their games.
She always wore with pride her lettered sweater and her red B.C. Rain jacket which was one of her prized possessions, and is still hanging in her closet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Griffin; parents, Fred Simpson, Margarette (Jim) Easterwood; brother, John Simpson; and two sisters, Meldia (Willie) Kolb and Mardis (James) Jeffcoat.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Jimmy) Jordan; son, Donnie (Brenda) Griffin; grandson, Mark McCord; three granddaughters, Jaynae Carpenter, Melodie (Drew) Barton, and Kelly (Brian) Bolerjack; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Edna Simpson, Sue Griffin, Mary Lou Dill, and Peggy Griffin; and an extended family of several nieces and nephews.
Ann will be laid to rest on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service next to her husband in the Garden of Peace at Serenity Gardens, Mobile, AL, officiated by Rev. Barry McCord.
