Ann Kollin Rockwell

Ann Kollin Rockwell passed away peacefully in Mobile, Alabama on September 16, 2026, at the age of 89. Ann was born on December 1, 1936, and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended the Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in New Orleans, graduating in the mid-1950s. Thereafter, Ann began her career as a registered nurse in New Orleans, and later met and married Dr. Donald Harris Rockwell in New Orleans.

Ann continued her nursing career after marriage, working as a nurse at Rich’s department store in Atlanta, Georgia while her husband served with the U.S. Public Health Service at the Communicable Disease Center. After the family moved to Mobile, Ann worked alongside her husband for many years when Dr. Rockwell entered private practice. Together with her husband, Ann raised four children: Donald Harris Rockwell, Jr. (Deborah), Marie Louise Ellison (Richard), Steven Carl Rockwell (Helen), and Thomas Michael Rockwell (Larrin).

Ann was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Ann Kathryn Rockwell (Kevin); Richard Wes Ellison, Jr. (Hannah); Erin Lea Rockwell; Ryan Harris Ellison; Emily Ann Guerin (Will); Ann Brewer Rockwell; Claire Elise Rockwell; Grace Hartman Rockwell; Marley Kathryn Ellison; Aiden Ellison-Ramirez and Richard Wes “Tripp” Ellison, III. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Donald Harris Rockwell; her parents, Carl Joseph Kollin and Marie Stecca Kollin; and her brother, Carl Joseph Kollin, Jr.

A graveside memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00 am at Pinecrest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
