

Ann Henry Roe, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died on March 24, 2017 at the age of 81. Active in community affairs for many years, Ann served on the boards of directors of the Mobile Arts Council, Mobile Historic Development Commission, City Museum, Art Patrons League, Community Concerts Association, and Mobile Lions Club Auxiliary. She was a charter member of two local chapters of the Federation of Republican Women, and volunteered as office manager for numerous local and statewide Republican candidates. Ann was a lifelong Episcopalian and served on the Wilmer Hall Board of Trustees as well as the Board of Managers of the old Protestant Children's Home. She was a Sunday school teacher, president of the woc, and a delegate to diocesan conventions. Survivors include her husband, Medford H. "Larry" Roe, a son, Medford, Jr. of Mobile; a daughter, Catherine (James) Jordan of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren: William and Taylor Roe of Mobile; James Jordan, IV of Greenville, SC; Hilleary (John) Boyer of Charlotte, NC; and Ellanor Jordan of Falls Church, VA; a brother, George A. (Donna) Henry of Brownsboro, AL; and other relatives. The family thanks all of the staff at Palm Gardens for their kindness and care since July 2015 and Comfort Care Hospice, for the same, since January. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services for the immediate family will be held at Montrose Cemetery.
