Ann Torrans Summersell, age 73, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 15, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis Harrington and Inez Torrans Summersell, brothers, Frank and Jimmy Summersell and sister, Elaine Summersell. Ann was a native of Mobile and a graduate of Convent of Mercy in 1963 and Auburn University in 1967. She retired after 25 years of service with the U. S. Census Bureau in Washington, D.C. and returned to her family home after retirement. She was an avid historian and loved studying family history and the history of Mobile. She was a current member of the Mobile Genealogical Society, Friends of Catholic Cemetery, Friends of Magnolia Cemetery and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Ann is survived by her nephews, Brandon Summersell (Mina), Trip Summersell, Jack Summersell (Kim) and Brad Summersell (Peri). She is also survived by her loving cousins, Catherine McIntosh, Bill McIntosh (Patricia), Pat McIntosh (Brenda), Joe McIntosh (Kirksey) and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be offered to the Mobile Genealogical Society, 1400 Joyce Rd., Mobile, AL 36618.
