Ann Paulette Thublin

Ann P. Thublin, age 86, native of Mobile, AL passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. She was the daughter of Marcus F. (Tut) and Emma “Emmy” Lander Thublin. Ann attended Little Flower Elementary School, was a graduate of Bishop Toolen High School in 1951 where she was a member of the ADK sorority. She received a B.S. from Springhill College. She was employed by Waterman Steamship Co., Courtaulds and Continental Motors from which she retired after decades of service. Ms. Thublin was very active in community theatre organizations since her high school days. She was an award-winning actress predominately in productions at the Mobile Theatre Guild and the Joe Jefferson Players. One of her favorite roles was that of Queen Agravain in productions at both theatres of the musical “Once Upon A Mattress”. She also appeared in works by Shakespeare, as well as musical and comedies. She was honored for her outstanding service as a Board member and backstage worker for many productions. She also served as a volunteer for the Historic Mobile Preservation Society and the Visitation Convent. Ann was a lifelong member of Little Flower Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector and worked tirelessly for all of their many church and school events. She was one of the first Mobilians to become involved in the Cursillo movement in the Catholic Church in the Mobile community. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, William F. Thublin. She is survived by her brother, Marcus F. “Tut” Thublin, Jr. (Vonda), Decatur, AL, her niece, Vicki Blankenship (Tommy), two nephews, Ryland and Carson Blankenship, Hartselle, AL and other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Memorial Service. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be offered to Little Flower Church, or the charity of your choice.
