Anna Louise DuBose

Anna Louise (Watler) DuBose passed away peacefully at her residence January 23, 2022 at the age of 103. She was a lifelong resident of Mobile. She graduated from Bishop-Toolen High School, Class of 1938, and was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church. An avid golfer into her 80’s, she was proud of her three holes in one, her many tournament wins and her good friends made on the Skyline (Heron Lakes) and Spring Hill College golf courses. She enjoyed maintaining a beautiful flowering landscape at her mid-town Mobile residence of 65 years. As a proud Mobile resident, Mardi Gras season was always a highlight of the year, watching parades, hosting parties, and attending balls.

Anna Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Emmitt L. DuBose, Sr.; her parents Joseph J. Watler and Maud Rea Watler; and her siblings Lucille Kellett, Joseph J. Watler, Jr., Florence Collins, Mary Elizabeth McFadyen, and Margaret Easterling and her son-in-law Mitchell Lattof, Sr.

She is survived by her children Emmitt L. DuBose, Jr. of Mobile (Erin), Michael W. DuBose of Sparta, NC (Molly), Susan DuBose Lattof of Mobile, Denise DuBose Storm of Pensacola (Gary), and Dennis G. DuBose of Birmingham (Susan); grandchildren Brantley DuBose Alvey of Charlotte, NC (Scott), Katherine DuBose Miller of Mobile (Christian), Emma DuBose of New York City, Emmitt L. (Tripp) DuBose, III of Centennial, CO (Meredith), Danielle DuBose of Atlanta, and Andrew DuBose of Ft. Worth TX; and great-grandchildren Liv and Maggie Alvey, Lyanna Miller, and Henry and Charles DuBose.

Visitation will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church at 10 am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 2605 Spring Hill Avenue, Mobile, Al 36607 followed by Mass at 11am.
