Annis Henry, 85, of Perdido Key, Florida, gracefully left us to be at home with Jesus on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Annis was born in Madisonville, TN. She was married 45 years to a devoted and loving husband Gus Henry (deceased). Together, they had 4 children: Sam Henry (deceased), Charlie Henry (Monica), Kim Dye (Kip), and Zach Henry (Crystal). Her love and joy of family grew with each grandchild; Sarah (Dylan), Christian, Cara, Dash (Cassie), Shelby (Steven), Ethan, and Jonathan and great-grandchildren; Benjamin and Aurora. She loved her sisters Bernaida (deceased) and Betty Jo, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Although she loved her Tennessee mountains and waterfalls, when Annis first visited Perdido Key, Florida in 1969, she fell in love with the beautiful white sand beaches and made it home in the early 70’s. Along with enjoying all the many experiences of living on the beach, she worked endlessly with others in the 70’s and 80’s trying to preserve Perdido Key’s natural beauty.
Annis was passionate about many things: her family, friends, church, Mardi Gras, the Blue Angels, among others. However, we all will agree that while she was the best mother ever, she truly fulfilled her calling the day she became “Memom”. WOW! She never looked back after that day. Not only was she Memom to her 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, she was also Memom to everyone around her. She gave true love, like a Memom, to those most special to her. She had a hug and a smile for everyone she knew. Her loving nature, kindness, and grace was something to behold. We will love our Memom forever. We look forward to enjoying her light and laughter again, where the Good Lord keeps his special angels.
A celebration of life mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Pensacola, FL, Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 12pm.
We appreciate the many calls, texts, and visits from loved ones and friends.
To Ms. Becky, (Your Choice Senior Care) we love you for the genuine care, protection, and friendship you extended to mom. We are grateful to the caring staff of St. Joseph Hospice, especially her nurse, Meghan.
