Annunziata Amis Terrell

Annunziata Amis Terrell, age 89, a lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away on August 22, 2016. Miss Nuncy, as she was known by the countless number of students she taught at Corpus Christi Catholic School and St. Ignatius Catholic School, is survived by her three children, Liz Terrell Reed (Max), John Terrell, III (Julie), Kathleen Terrell Greer (Robert), her 10 grandchildren; Oliva Terrell, Elizabeth Terrell Brown (Brandon), John “Jack” Terrell, IV, Marie Reed Jenks (Gordy), Meg Reed, Max Reed, Les Buerger, Katie Greer Tillman (Clifford), Sara Greer, Dr. Robert Greer, Jr. (Laura), six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Terrell was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mr. John D. Terrell, Jr., her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Herman Amis and her father Mr. Rufus Thomas Amis, sister Mrs. April Amis Adams and nephews Chris and Tim Adams.

Mrs. Terrell was born on March 25, 1927 in Coral Gables, Florida. She grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and graduated from the The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Terrell was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and a member of a mystic society. She delivered meals to shut ins through the Meals on Wheels program and was a tireless supporter of her children and grandchildren’s lives.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the Marian Center one hour prior to Mass. Interment will be at the Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 3704 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL 36608.
