On Tuesday, December 11th, 2018, Anthony Dale LaFrenier, age 16 of Mobile, Alabama, passed from this life after a hard fought battle with traumatic brain injury. Anthony was a light and a rock for all who knew him. His caring, loving, and giving attitude, and his fighting spirit inspired many. He was a warrior. Anthony was a student at W.P. Davidson High School, the Academics Officer and a C/MCPO with their Navy JROTC staff, and a Sergeant with the Mobile County Sheriff's Department Explorer Program. He was welcomed into the next life by his beloved Grandma Debbie. He is survived by his parents Anthony and Tina LaFrenier and Mark and Beth Jones, as well as his twin brother Jack LaFrenier and siblings Sarah LaFrenier, Hanah LaFrenier, Clancy (Ben) Nehls, Kelli (Jacob) Bonasera, Jacob Jones, and Ryan (Emily) Unsworth. He also leaves behind his grandparents Tim Brazell, Cindy and David Sawyer, and Tony and Dolly LaFrenier, as well as his great-grandmother Elba Haver. Many grieving cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, including his second family by choice, the Trejos, mourn his loss. A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a memorial service to immediately follow. His burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery under the direction of the Navy Ceremonial Guard. Our prayers are with you all, Anthony was a true warrior, he showed more strength and determination than anyone I have ever seen. I know he is surrounded by love with his family and bonus family who were there before him. He taught me more than anybody will ever know, watching him fight his fight with his TBI. RIP Anthony, we love you. Your family is in our prayers.

Our hearts are very heavy for your entire family. You took the time to reach out to our family and offered support and guidance with our daughter with her recovery while you were busy with Anthony. I wished we could have met Anthony. No words can take away your pain however just know that Anthony's courage has inspired many of us and will continue to do so.

My heart hurts for our loss!! He was such a shining star with so much promise!! Granny and i will miss all the pictures and posts of all the accomplishments he did not get to challenge in his future! I am sure he is shining in heaven with all the angels gathered around him! He will be greatly missed and forever loved! I know my dad [his greatgrandfather] was there to greet him too!
