Anthony Shubbie Phillips

Anthony (Tony) Shubbie Phillips born on September 3, 1958 and a life-long resident of Mobile, Al, passed unexpectedly on Friday, December 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at Pine Crest . Tony was preceded in death by his parents; James Shubbie Phillips and Sarah Juanita (Peevy) Phillips, his brother, James Terry Phillips and brother in law, Robert G. Byrd. He is survived by his wife, Brenda S. Phillips; his children, Brittany Denton (Christian), Anthony C. Phillips, Weston A. Phillips, step-daughter, Colleen Jones Scott (Josh), grandchildren, Kaylee, Gavin, Colin, Tyler and Jaxon Scott, sisters, Sherry Byrd (Robert), Tracy Phillips, and Wendy Brewer (Chris), brother, Michael C. Phillips (Debbi) and sister-in-law Peggy Loper Phillips and a host of nieces and nephews, and his two dear friends, Paul Clarke and Sue Farni whom he worked with at the City of Mobile. Tony started his career with the Mobile Fire Department on March 4, 1985 and transferred to the City of Mobile December 29, 1992 where we worked for the MIT Department as Network/Technical Services Manager. Tony attended Auburn University and graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science. Pallbearers, Wesley G. Phillips, Ryan G. Phillips, Michael C. Phillips II, Gabriel A. Phillips, Connor M. Phillips, Joshua L. Scott. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
