He graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Ala., employed with Courtaulds Fibers, Inc. in 1965. Retired as Chief Engineer after 30 years of service in 1995.
He lived a full and rich life as an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, golfing, camping and traveling and had many hobbies.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Parthenia Farmer; and one grandson, Thomas Stokes III.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Farmer; son, Gregory Farmer (Kari); daughters, Cheri Allred (Julian), Elisa Stokes (Tom), and Valerie Sellers (Ric); step-son, Leon Snipes (Angie); step-daughter, Lana Nelson; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Janice Radford.
“Arnold” had many achievements in life and was deeply respected and loved.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, Alabama. A family graveside service will immediately follow.
