

Artimesa Blevins, 93, of Montevallo, Alabama, passed away on March 31, 2026. Born on February 5, 1933 in Whatley, Alabama, she was an adventurous, kind-hearted, and wise woman whose life reflected quiet strength, deep devotion to family, and a steady care for those around her. Artimesa graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. In keeping with the enduring commitment that shaped so much of her life, Artimesa married her husband, James William Blevins, on February 17, 1950.
Artimesa was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bettis Anderson and Mabel Kathleen Henderson, and her grandson, James Kelly Blevins Russell. She is survived by her children, Terry Blevins Kersh (Jesse), Paula Blevins-Russell (James), and Nanette Blevins Towey (John); son-in-law, Wayne Jones; Amelia "Meme" Anderson Hilburn; grandchildren, Ashley Kersh Dionne, Joshua Thomas Kersh (Tara), Jake Brandon Jones, and Casey Morgan Jones (Alysa); and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Makenzi, Brizbie, Stella, Pierson, Eden, and Holland.
Artimesa found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. She loved traveling and reading, and she especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Artimesa enjoyed gardening when she could. She valued catching up with friends staying connected in ways that were thoughtful, sincere, and true to who she was.
Artimesa will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will remain a lasting presence in the lives of those she loved.
A celebration of life will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606, on Saturday April 25, 2026 at 11:00am. The family asks for you to arrive 30 minutes prior to the service, with a reception to follow.
