

Rev. Dr. Arvin Franklin Trotter, born June 14, 1950, a native of Mobile, Alabama, peacefully passed away with family at his side on Monday morning, May 6, 2019, at the age of 68. He answered the call of service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in 1973 as the associate minister at St Peter Baptist Church. He was ordained in the Gospel Ministry in 1979. He was blessed to be chosen as the Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church in Salipta, AL in the same year. As the Pastor for seven years, he was also the voice of the “Piece of Mind” broadcast on 93 WBLX every Sunday morning. His support of the National Board of Evangelism was rewarded with him being named State President from 1980-1982. His desire to excel in any arena led him to be the first Black Account Executive at Merrill Lynch in Mobile, AL. His journey of service led him to become the Pastor of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church from 1985 - 1995. His passion for leadership and basketball lead him to the be the assistant coach for John L. LeFlore (2 State Championships) and Bishop State Community College. While at Bishop State, he served as the ADA/Disabled Students Services Director from 1992 – 2013. While continuing to serve our Lord as an advisor for many other Pastors and ministers, he became Pastor of Mt Hermon Missionary Baptist Church in Prichard, AL. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by son, Dwayne Gore, wife, Gladys Trotter, his parents, Frank and Mary Trotter, sister, Lolita Watson. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Lita Trotter, four devoted children, Pastor Arvin Franklin Trotter Jr. (Stephanie), Semmes, AL, Antoinette Trotter, Charlotte, NC, Andre Frank Trotter (Teia), Tampa, FL, and Alexandria Trotter, Atlanta, GA; a loving sister Annita Dailey (Cecil), Mobile, AL; loving grandchildren, Aspen, Ausha, Ajanne, Nia, Andre Jr., Sydney, Hannah, and Asher; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mr. Trotter's life will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pinecrest Funeral Home Chapel . Family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Funeral Home Cemetery. Services entrusted to Pinecrest Funeral Home and Cemeteries (1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Arvin Trotter, Sr.’s name to Waterfront Rescue Mission – Mobile at waterfrontmission.org and/or Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy at ozanampharmacy.org.
