Barbara Johnson Chiepalich “B.J.”, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was born to James Clarence Johnson and Nancy Stoker Johnson on August 24, 1939, in St. Stephens, Alabama. B.J. was an incredibly dedicated and hardworking woman who worked in Furniture Sales for years – mainly with Haverty’s. On top of her career, she was a fantastic homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. B.J. was a God-fearing woman, and we know she is at peace with the Lord.
B.J. was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Chiepalich; a son, Michael Joseph Chiepalich; daughter, Jayne Chestang; parents; and eleven siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy C. Ezell (Donald); grandsons, Brandon Ezell (Lee) and Jayson Chestang (Jennifer); granddaughters, Callie Chiepalich and Jessica Arbona (Henry); six great-grandchildren; and one brother.
A graveside service for B.J. will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery West, located at 1599 Snow Road S, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
