Barbara Lee Dransfield

Barbara was born January 15, 1938 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Charles and Helen Vaughn. Barbara married John T. Dransfield, Jr. on April 1, 1961 in Ironton, Ohio and shared 35 years together until his passing on September 25, 1996. She was a tremendous example of Christian faith, love and strength of character and was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her sons: John R. Dransfield (Shannon), Jim C. Dransfield, and her daughter Terri (Dransfield) Keasler (Kary). Her grandchildren: Kirsten (Keasler) Hargrove (Patrick), John Kary Keasler (Eliza), Carder (Dransfield) Iturregui (Nick) and Gray C. Dransfield. Great-grandchildren: Piper Lee Hargrove and John Patrick Hargrove and many other family and friends that will miss her deeply.

Barbara was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and retired from General Services Administration after many years of service in telecommunications. She always enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, attending Auburn football games and camping with family in the Smoky Mountains.

There will be a family graveside service at Pine Crest West Cemetery in Mobile, AL on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers you can donate to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
