Barbara was born on July 19, 1941 in Tuscaloosa County and moved with her family to Mobile, AL in 1957. She was a graduate of Murphy High School class of 1959. She retired from the Social Security Administration after 35 years of service. She was an avid University of Alabama football fan , loved spending time at the VFW Post #4328 (the “little post” on Hamilton Blvd.) and frequenting the casinos in Biloxi.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. William (Martha) M. Johnson, Sr., her brother, William M. Johnson, Jr., and her nephew, Keith Alan Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Cecelia (Don) McCullough, 3 nieces: Dee Dee (Michael) Little, Nikki (Jerry) Hocutt and Christy (Leo) Caffrey, 2 nephews: Senior Chief Petty Officer Don (Oriana) McCullough, Jr. and Adam (Kim) McCullough, 6 great-nieces, 5 great–nephews, 1 great great-niece, and numerous other family members and friends.
The funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm with a graveside service immediately following officiated by Rev. Arthur Burroughs. Pallbearers are Adam McCullough, Michael Little, Jerry Hocutt, Clay Hocutt, Mike Whitehead, and Mark James. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by SouthernCare Hospice, 100% by Carol & Crew Sitter Service (Sharon), and by her close friend, Mark James.
