I attended the retirement celebration on yesterday to find that my 3rd grade teacher Barbara Ward had passed. She was the The Duchess of Discipline and we loved her for it. I had never been exposed to a collegiate team before stepping into her classroom but be certain that upon my departure I was a North Carolina Tarheels fanatic.  Oh how good it is to be in the presence of the King. I know you are there.

My thoughts and prayers for your family.  Mrs Ward will truly be missed. She was one of my favorite customers at FedEx. 

Your mom was a caring and dedicated teacher who touched many lives of her young students.  She not only gave her students the educational mentoring they needed, she went further by involving them in "real life" experiences.  Donna's graduation from Tulane was just one example of this "real life experience."  Barbara  had  taken one of her aspiring students under her wing  and included her in  this milestone accomplishment.  Although this was many years ago, I'm sure the memory is still with this young lady.
She also raised strong, intelligent, and caring children.  That speaks for itself.  She touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed.  


I'm so sorry for your loss and that I can't be there at this difficult and important time. I never got to meet your mother, but I love her for bringing you into this world so that we could become friends. We are wishing you all peace and looking forward to seeing you again soon. God bless you and all your family.
