

Born on July 6th, 1937 in Mobile, AL, Ann was the daughter of Herschel Eugene and Lois Crenshaw Quarles. Ann was united in marriage to the late Forrest Crowell Wilson, Jr. on June 21st, 1958. They were blessed with three children: Forrest “Skip” Wilson III (Sally) of Mobile, AL; Mark (Denise) Wilson of Tallahassee, FL; and Amy (Brett) Teten of Kirksville, MO. Ann is also survived by her grandchildren, Haley (Parker) Goodman of Birmingham, AL; Ebie (Patrick) Forwood of Mobile, AL; Walker and Brady Wilson of Tallahassee, FL; and Nolan and Avery Teten of Kirksville, MO. Great-grandchildren: Charlie and William Goodman of Birmingham, AL; and Wilson and George Forwood of Mobile, AL. Brother: William “Buzz” (Emily) Quarles of Spring, TX.
Ann was a graduate of Murphy High School with the class of 1955. She continued on to earn a degree in English at the University of Alabama in 1958, where she was inducted into their chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. She and Forrest married shortly after graduating. While raising their children, Ann enjoyed singing in the church choir, attending the Mobile Opera where Forrest frequently sang, volunteering as a news-reader for the blind, and watching as many of her boys’ baseball and basketball games as possible. She fostered a love of music in her daughter. In later years, Ann enjoyed playing bridge with friends and knitting blankets with her church group for those in need.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Forrest Crowell Wilson, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law Herschel and Anna Quarles; and sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Gerry Mastin.
Ann was a long-time member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church in Mobile, AL.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Pinecrest Cemetery at another time.
The family would like to thank the many nurses, staff, and hospice providers at Crowne Health Care for the care they provided to Ann in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Ann may be made to the music program at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
