Bessie Rose Hunter McDaniel

BESSIE ROSE HUNTER MCDANIEL passed away peacefully in Mobile, AL on June 11, 2024. She was born March 27, 1929 in Mobile and was preceded in death by her parents, John Claude and Bessie Soderquest Rose, eight siblings, her husbands, John Daniel Hunter Sr. and Thomas Scott McDaniel, and her daughter, Julie Hunter Greenwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Hunter Otts (Tommy), her son, John Daniel Hunter Jr. (Molly) and grandchildren, Essie McGowin McGivern (Bill), Gala Hunter, Irina Hunter, John Daniel Hunter III (Rachel), Robert Ely Hunter (Melissa), Clay Harris Lapeyrouse, Bessie Lapeyrouse Stinson (Will), Michael Ludger Lapeyrouse (Audrey) and ten great grandchildren.

Bessie will be remembered for her devotion and extraordinary love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the center of her life.

The family would like to thank the staff at Proveer at Port City and most especially her caregiver and friend, Blanche Taylor, for their continual care and support.

A family memorial service will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
