

Betty Anne Logan Kendall was born on Feb 12, 1930 in Dayton, AL and passed away on Oct 7, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband Augustus Kendall and her brother Julian Logan. She is survived by her sister Imogene Quinney and her children Anne (Jeff) Vinson, Jane (Harvey) Sikes, Lynn (Danny) Merchant and Brad (Alayne) Kendall. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Betty was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, shopping and working in her yard. She was a true Mobilian and loved living near the coast where she enjoyed the views of Perdido Bay from her deck. She loved visiting and being visited by her family and friends and cherished these life long relationships. She supported numerous charities and was a member of Forest Hill UMC for over 45 years. At Forest Hill, she was an active member of the UMW, enjoyed teaching Sunday School and attending Bible studies. She was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama completing both her undergraduate and graduate studies there. She loved everything Alabama and cheered for her beloved Tide at every opportunity. She was a true matriarch and leaves a legacy of Love, Kindness, Generosity, and Faith. She will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct 10, 2013 from 12-2pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Graveside service will follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Forest Hill UMC or the preservation of her childhood church, Dayton UMC.
