Betty Jean Crow

Betty was born in Beat-4, Mississippi (Wayne County) in a sharecropper’s cabin to Oliver Ezell and Sadie Wells Ezell on June 25, 1938. She graduated from Vigor High School, Class of 1956, then went on to obtain her master’s degree in special education from the University of South Alabama in 1975. Betty live in Germany for five years, where she learned to speak German fluently.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Francis.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Crow and Gregg Crow; grandson, Rick Crow (Laura); great-grandson, Noah Crow; brother, Oliver L. Ezell (Carolyn); nieces, Natalie Ezell and Angela Ezell (Nickey); Bert Dumas, who was a lifelong friend and sister; husband, Samuel “Bud” Crow; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.

Visitation for Betty will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a service in the chapel immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
