She was fondly known as Mamoo by not only her grandchildren, but all of her family and even many of her friends. Her greatest joy in life was her family and those many lifelong friends who became like family. Betty was proud to be the first female salesperson at Treadwell Ford in Mobile, where she worked for 26 years before retiring. She was known for going above and beyond for her customers—something she did out of the goodness of her heart.
Betty enjoyed her volunteer work helping MARC with their Mardi Gras celebrations and was a dedicated member of The Trolley Society for over 20 years. Mardi Gras season was one of her favorite times of the year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Henderson, and her parents, Ernestine J. Kincannon and William J. Kincannon.
She leaves to cherish her memory her twin daughters, Susan McClendon of Mobile, AL, and Sally (Larry) Beauchamp of Dothan, AL; her son, David (Lara) McClendon of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren, Robert (Michelle) Copeland of Friendswood, TX, Brooke (Andy) Flanagan of Houston, TX, Becca Davis of Houston, TX, Annie McClendon of Littleton, CO, Ryan McClendon of Littleton, CO; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Mona) Kincannon of Fort Smith, AR, and Elliott (Rene) Miner of Santa Rosa, CA; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
