Betty Browning McLean was born August 10, 1928 in Prichard, Alabama, the daughter of Earl and Missouri Browning. She was a proud graduate of Murphy High School and the University of South Alabama. Betty loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church. Teaching was her passion, she touched the lives of her students at Prichard Christian Grade School and Hamilton Elementary in Chickasaw. Betty was a member of the Easter Star, Alpha Delta Kappa dn Assistance League, Mobile. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McLean and by her 2nd husband, Grover Sheffield; her parents, Earl and Missouri Browning; a sister, Gloria Brunson. Mrs. McLean leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Nancy McLean of Mobile, Alabama; son, Ricky (Shellene) McLean of Mobile, Alabama; son, Greg (Stephanie) McLean of Lakeland, Florida. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Ben (Shauna) McLean of Ft. Bliss, Texas, Matthew McLean of Woolmarket, Mississippi; Mallory (Dylan) Frechette of Tampa, Florida, Jalie (Charlie) Helton of Norman, Oklahoma and a step granddaughter, Elizabeth Harbin of Mobile, Alabama; She leaves 2 beloved great grandchildren, Kristopher McLean an Kathryn McLean of Ft. Bliss, Texas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 201 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. service time at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, Alabama. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama.
