Celebration of Life services for Buddy Ray Urban, 84, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Pine Crest Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Mike officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 1:00 PM until time of service at Pine Crest.
Buddy Ray Urban was born December 16, 1934, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late Andrew (Floyd) and (Ethel) Livera Dickinson Urban and was called to his Heavenly home April 18, 2019, in Daphne, Alabama. He worked for International Paper Company for thirty-nine years as an Electrician as a Supervisor and Construction Superintendent. Buddy taught briefly Analytical Troubleshooting at Princeton University. He was Chairman of the Saraland Water board and helped start Saraland volunteer fire department. Buddy served as Secretary of the Marlow Fire Department and was a past member of Abba Temple shiners, the masons, and Scottish rite. He was a past Church Deacon at Myers Memorial Baptist Church in Eight Mile. Buddy made Citizen of the Year in Saraland and was appointed by Governor George C Wallace as an honorary colonel in the Militia. He will be remembered for all of his many accomplishments and endearing mannerisms.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Willard Cecil (WC) Urban, Vernon Horace (Horace) Urban, James Daniel (DD) Urban; wives: Carolyn Jones Urban (Carolyn) and Betty Jean Urban; Son, Ronald Ray Urban (Ron).
Left to cherish Buddy’s memories will be two sons: Michael Edward Urban (Mike) and wife Nancy, Jeffrey Daniel Urban (Jeff) and wife Dawn; four daughters: Toni Urban Etheridge (Toni), Chris Dailey and husband Larry, Cheryl Smith and husband Pete, Cathy MacDonald and husband Mac; thirteen grandchildren: Christopher Wayne Urban (Chris), Michelle Lynn Urban (Michelle), Jeremy James Urban (Jeremy) and wife Leisha, Gregory Gene Urban (Greg), Tara Renee Wyman (Tara) and husband David, Jaron Daniel Urban (Jaron), Elizabeth Danielle Urban (Danielle) and Chloe Elyse Urban (Chloe), Josh Dailey and wife Cary, Laura Wood and husband Andrew, Kyle Smith, Katie Sweet and husband Robert, Spence MacDonald and wife Kelly; fifteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; among many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Buddy as pallbearers will be David Wyman, Randy Kidd, Chris Urban, Jaron Urban, Kenny Urban, and Larry Urban. Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Urban, Doug Urban, Bobo Urban, Dakota Wyman and Greg Urban.
