The family will be receiving guests in remembrance of Mr. Dohm, Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL.
Mr. Dohm was born in Braunschweig, Germany, January 14, 1936, to the late Wilhelm and Gertrud Clahes Dohm. He completed an apprenticeship with Volkswagen Werks, Wolfsburg and in his early 20's Mr. Dohm immigrated to the states from Germany on the USS United States. Mr. Dohm was drafted into the US Army 6 months after arriving in Chicago where he met the love of his life, Mrs. Nell. He retired to Mobile, AL, after many years of dedicated employment as an Engineer.
Mr. Dohm was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law; Georgette Doyle Mosley.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories Burkhard leaves behind are his wife of forty years; Mrs. Nell Doyle Dohm, brother-in-law; George Edward Doyle Jr. and wife Kathleen, sister-in-law;Sharon Patrick and husband William, nephew; George E. Towers and wife Dawn, cousin; Friedrich Bartling and wife Lenchen, along with extended family members and many wonderful friends.
Honoring Mr. Dohm as pallbearers will be William Fletcher, Earl Davis, Robert Hickman, Greg Hickman, Peter Doyle, Mark Lewis and Gress Hickman. Honorary pallbearer will be George Towers, Jr.
