First met Calvin at the L&N railroad yard in New Orleans. I remember him having a bout with some sort of throat cancer and getting through it. I remember he and his friend T. H. Downey being friendly and talkative. Two good guys. After Katrina when I began attending retiree meetings he came and worked on my riding mower and later invited me to join a group playing dominos at his church. Calvin was always one of the true "good guys" at or away from the railroad and he will be greatly missed. May many sweet memories bring comfort to his family and many friends.
